We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

I completed secondary school in my hometown of Győr, Hungary at the Révai Miklós Grammar School. In 1993, I was admitted to the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pécs Medical School. I graduated with a degree as a dietitian (BSc). After graduation I was offered a position at the Petz Aladár County Hospital in Győr. In 1998, I relocated to Budapest where I worked as the coordinator of the ”Szívbarát program” (Heart Healthy Nutrition Project) between 1998 and 2001.I organized scientific conventions, edited publications, and took part in creating and analysing diverse research on nutrition.

During that time, I also received a Master’s Degree in Sociology at the Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences. I went on to study as a doctoral student from 2002 to 2005. I studied the effects of socio-economic factors on hospital malnutrition at the Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn Institute for Nutrition Sciences in Germany.

The next professional challenge arrived in 2005 when I became the president of the 1000-member Hungarian Dietetic Association (HDA). I resigned from the presidency of the HDA in 2012, but continued working for the HDA as the Secretary General until May 2015. My colleagues and I were able to organize several conferences and we coordinated health education programs. I was also working as a dietitian representative at the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN).

I have been a member of the European Hydration Institute since 2013 which was the same year I received a request from the EDUvital Non-Profit Health Education Society. I was asked to become a member of the Scientific Advisory Board where I am responsible for the topics and discussions on nutrition.

I have been working as the Scientific Director of the TÉT Platform Association since July 2015. I am also a member of the Hungarian Society for the Study of Obesity, the Hungarian Society for Obesitology and Movement Therapy, the Hungarian Society for Nutrition Studies, the Chamber of Hungarian Healthcare Workers, the Hungarian Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, the Nutrition Forum, the European Federation of Associations of Dietitians, and the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations. I became a professor at the Budapest Business School in the College of Commerce, Catering and Tourism in 2016.

I often hold lectures at universities, civil forums, company events, and at local and international professional conferences.

During my career, I have received several foreign scholarships. In 2011 I was given the “Sós József Award” by the Hungarian Society for Nutrition Studies and in 2013 I became Honorary Obesitologist of the Hungarian Society for the Study of Obesity.

I am frequently invited to speak at television and radio programmes, and to appear in the printed press. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my children and family. I also like playing tennis, running, listening to music, reading and going hiking.
